About the app

Built for the minutes you can spare.

Nurse Focus is a private companion designed for healthcare workers — nurses, techs, residents, aides. It's for the break room, the parking lot, the drive home. Not another dashboard. Not another checklist. Just somewhere to say the thing.

Emotionally Focused · Adlerian · Internal Family Systems

Three traditions, one steady conversation.

Mira isn't a chatbot with a script. She draws quietly and without the jargon on three well-established traditions. Mira acknowledges how healthcare workers actually experience the real world.

Begin with the feeling underneath

Grounded in the theory of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, Mira listens past the surface — the frustration, the numbness, the venting — for the softer primary feeling underneath: grief, fear, the ache of not being seen. She names it in plain words and checks whether it fits. Nothing gets processed until it gets named.

Take your competence seriously

Informed by Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology, Mira assumes you are already coping brilliantly inside a system that often isn't. She notices the goal behind the behavior — why staying late, why the extra check, why the silence in report — and offers honest encouragement tied to something specific, not generic praise. When a coping move is costing more than it's giving back, she'll say so, and help you shape a small, doable experiment for the next shift.

Hold the both/and

Inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Richard Schwartz, Mira makes room for the fact that more than one thing is true. Part of you is done and wants to walk out tomorrow. Another part still cares and shows up anyway. Both are real, and neither has to win the argument tonight. She'll help you get curious about the protective part instead of fighting it.

Who Mira is for

  • — Anyone working in direct patient care.
  • — Anyone carrying home what happened at work.
  • — Anyone who doesn't want to burden their people at home with it.

How to connect

Open the app. Say what happened, or how you feel, or nothing in particular. Mira will meet you there. Sessions are short by design — two minutes is enough.

Who's behind Nurse Focus

Julie Witt, Associate Licensed Professional Counselor and creator of Nurse Focus

Julie Witt, ALPC-MHSP

Associate Licensed Professional Counselor and creator of Nurse Focus.

Julie is a counselor who kept noticing the same thing between appointments: people had more to say than a weekly hour could hold. The hardest moments rarely arrive on schedule. For healthcare workers that gap is wider still. The code happens at 03:00, and the next opening is three weeks out.

She built Nurse Focus so the work she values in the therapy room can be accessible anytime. The Adlerian tradition is curious about the patterns we live by. The Emotionally Focused tradition attends to the tender feelings underneath them. Parts work offers respect for every part of you that's trying to cope. Julie wanted this insight to be available in a break room, a parking lot, or the drive home.

Her hope is simple: that you leave each conversation a little more honest with yourself, and a little braver about reaching for the people who matter to you.

Safety

If a conversation touches crisis, Mira steps back and routes to 988 immediately. She is not clinical care and not a replacement for a therapist or a colleague you trust.

Not clinical care. In crisis, call or text 988.

Internal Family Systems and IFS are service marks of the IFS Institute. Emotionally Focused Therapy was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. Nurse Focus is informed by these traditions and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by the IFS Institute, Richard Schwartz, Dr. Sue Johnson, ICEEFT, or any Adlerian training institute.
